The Baumettes, a discrete hill in Nice
The feet in the water, this discrete hill conceals an unknown inheritance. From XVI to the XX century, Baumettes hill passed from the countryside to the city and accumulates on its soft slopes a rare richness concentration of architectural heritage nicois.
The Jules Cheret Museum
Built in 1878, this magnificent mansion exposes a collection of artworks dating from the 17th century through 1940's. The museum exposed French artists (sculptures by Carpeaux and Rodin), as well as a fine collection of remarkably restored Flemish paintings. Two exhibition spaces are entirely devoted to modern art, featuring Kees Van Dongen, Raoul Dufy and Picasso. Also a note has to be made for the work of the artist Gustav Adolf Mossa, who for many years was conservative of the museum.
